Alebtong Foundation adheres to an institutional culture modelled accepted international standards expected of humanitarian agencies around the world.

Our Code of Conduct includes:

  • No Sexual Abuse/Harassment
  • No Substance Abuse

We consider corruption as any form of abuse of power. Any action that involves the misuse of power, authority, resources and trust so as to attain advantages for oneself or for any other individual.

Corruption includes but cannot be limited to:

  • Bribery and Kickbacks
  • Embezzlement
  • Blackmail
  • Money Laundering
  • Nepotism
  • Favouritism
  • Funding any illegal activity.

The foundation considers corruption, as any form of abuse of funds granted to it. Our internal policy and practice are to involve law enforcement in any allegation of corruption and to conduct an internal review whos penalty is dismissal where a member of staff is found culpable of corruption.

Alebtong Foundation has a Zero-Tolerance policy against corruption.

The Foundation created a policy to ensure children are shielded from abuse and exploitation. We undertake a rigorous background check of all staff working directly in project programs that involve and give proximity to children.

We view all the following as forms of child abuse:

  • Physical Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Exploitation
  • Neglect

Our staff are expected to execute their obligations in a way that safeguards children by challenging poor practices and potentially abusive situations. The Foundation’s child protection policy is premised on openness and transparency.

All allegations of child abuse are forwarded to law enforcement.

Integrity and profession is at the core of our work, and we acknowledge that corruption, misuse of funds and any other unlawful activities are harmful to the image of Alebtong Foundation.

We have established a mechanism for complaints and reporting any misconduct that has been witnessed by our beneficiaries, donors and members of the community.

While we do not require proof at the initial stage of reporting, the Foundation expects all information to be given in good faith.

Reports may be submitted anonymously, however where the identity of the reporter has been shared with the Foundation, it shall be kept confidential.
